Looking for a way to feel closer to friends and family while social distancing? Print and color these free quarantine greeting cards!
I don’t know about you, but I kind of adore snail mail (did I age myself? Do we still call it that? Oh well.)
But it’s so uncommon to actually get a physical card or letter in the mail that getting one just gets me all excited.
Even if it’s something I’ve ordered for myself on Amazon.
But especially when we’re in this time of quarantine/social distancing, hearing from others in any format possible means that much more – because it REALLY sucks to not see the friends and family we normally get to see regularly.
That’s why today, my kids and I decided to make some quarantine greeting cards to send to friends and family who are farther away.
I just wrote some encouraging words on some white cardstock cut to the size of some envelopes I had on hand, then let my kids (mostly my oldest – my 13 month old mostly wanted to eat them) help color on them, then stuck them in an envelope, used water to wet the glue on the envelope (no licking!), and popped them in the mailbox.
I wasn’t totally sure on the germ-transmission powers of the mail, but I figured the people I’m sending the letters to are probably also getting Amazon packages delivered so it was probably fine? But I am FAR from the authority on this – so if you want to send mail but you’re still in doubt, feel free to send cards via electronic means for now. It’s still fun, snail mail or not!
You also can (and should) be extra clean while doing this. Wash your hands – now, forever, and always.
Anyway, I wanted you to be able to do this project with your family, too, and make it as simple as possible – so I made some basic black and white cards for you to print.
Not only are they super light on ink, so you can print at home without feeling guilty about using your whole color cartridge, but they’re also very customizeable because they’re so basic.
That means you can look up some simple step-by-step doodles to add, if you feel so inclined.
You can print it on thicker paper and use watercolors to decorate the front.
You can print on regular ol’ paper and help your kids color with crayons.
Or leave them to it while you have 5 minutes of alone time in the bathroom. I get it – no judgment here.
They’re even further customizeable because they’re blank inside – so go nuts writing what you miss about the person you’re sending the card to. Tell them what you love about them, how much you miss them, and all the things you can’t wait to do with them when this whole social distancing thing is over.
I mean, who doesn’t want to hear all those nice things… especially now?
But without further ado:

Here are the links to all the cards I made:
- Happy Quarantine
- Love And Miss You
- Sending A (Socially Distant) Hug
- At Least It’s Not A Zombie Apocalypse (if you’re a more tongue-in-cheek greeting card sender like I tend to be, when I ever send cards (which is basically like, never. Except right now because I’m running out of things to do, ha.))
Feel free to use as many of these cards as you’d like! Spread the love far and wide (just… not the germs. PLEEEASE!)
But of course, please don’t sell them or share them on your website and pretend you made them – because that’s just not cool, man.
And of course, here’s the friendly requisite COVID-19 reminder: wash your hands, stay home, and stay safe! We may be far apart from each other, but we’re still in this together.
If you do something cool with these cards or just want to share how they impacted you/those you decided to send them to, please feel free to share in the comments!
And if you liked this post, be sure to share on Facebook/Pinterest/Twitter/wherever. I’d love to get these cards into as many figurative/literal/digital hands as possible. There’s plenty of need for spreading happiness at a dark time like this 🙂
So much love to you and yours!
I mailed these cards to friends and family with smiley face magnets I made. Glad I stumbled across these cards. Thank you! Going to share this post for sure!!
